Annual Reports & Financial Statements for 2020/2021

The present report for 2020/2021 was written at a period of extraordinary changes and difficulties. This report was compiled, while the whole world, South Africa, and the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality (MMM) was still battling with the continuation of the (COVID-19). Furthermore, it is also still subjected to Provincial Government involvement according to the requirements of Section 139 (5) (a) and (c) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. Despite these difficulties, the Municipality and its entity produced this report in accordance with legislative requirements with particular emphasis to its five strategic development objectives.

According to section 129 (3) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, (Act no 56 of 2003) and section 21A of the Local Government: Municipal System Act, (Act No 32 of 2000), the accounting officer must make public an oversight report within seven (7) days of its adoption. Notice is hereby given that the Oversight Report of Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) on the 2020/2021 Annual Performance Report for the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality was adopted by the Council on 31 August 2022.
